Companies House identity verification
Companies House identity verification for directors and PSCs.
A new obligation for every director and PSC
Under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act, directors and people with significant control must verify their identity with Companies House. It is not optional and it is not a one-off inconvenience you can defer — unverified officers face restrictions and, ultimately, penalties. As an Authorised Corporate Service Provider we can carry out the verification for you.
What is included
- Identity verification for directors, PSCs and LLP members
- Verification for new incorporations and existing companies
- Guidance on acceptable documentation
- Confirmation and record-keeping for your statutory files
- Support for overseas directors
How it works
- We confirm who in your company needs to be verified.
- You supply photographic identification and proof of address.
- We complete the verification and submit it to Companies House.
- You receive written confirmation for your records.
If you hold multiple directorships, verification only needs completing once — the identifier follows you across every appointment.
